For the animated short Adrift, I was responsible for designing the ships featured in the film. These are the ship designs I created throughout the production process. I collaborated closely with the director, refining and adjusting the designs as needed to ensure the modeling team had clear and effective references for 3D production. The image shown on the left is my favorite ship design for Nova, a space ranger who requires a fast and agile ship capable of both long-distance travel and combat.

This set of animated GIFs showcases layout animation work from the short film Strings. Over the course of several weeks, I was responsible for animating the cameras and blocking in the initial character rigs to establish timing, staging, and overall scene composition. I worked closely with the director throughout the process, refining shots and pacing until the sequences matched the intended vision. These represent some of the final layout versions before the project moved into full character animation.
Layout animation serves as a bridge between storyboarding and final animation. Its purpose is to establish camera movement, character placement, scene timing, and cinematic composition before detailed animation begins. This stage helps the team test storytelling, pacing, and shot clarity early in production, allowing adjustments to be made efficiently before moving into more time-intensive animation work.

These shots are from the animated short Octoninja, created by the Animation Lab at The University of Texas at Dallas. For this sequence, I was tasked with character animation and was solely responsible for all animation performance and movement within the scene. My focus was on bringing the characters to life through acting, timing, posing, and motion refinement.
The lighting, textures, rendering, and additional visual effects were completed by other departments as part of the collaborative production pipeline. This allowed me to concentrate specifically on the animation process while working within a larger team environment similar to a professional studio workflow.
